 Hello, I am Maria Oman
Real estate has been a passion of mine since childhood. My sister and brother in law invest in property and have enjoyed the benefits of income producing properties for 35 years. I was often brought along when they hunted for their next investment. They would humor me and ask my opinion. When I objected to layout or condition, “This is dark and small, it smells, It’s PINK!!!“ (yes - there really was a pink four plex in Minneapolis back then!) My brother in law would respond , “Oh, just imagine it cleaned up and painted! We can knock down this wall and open it up!” Soon I was able to see castles instead of distressed property. This ability to see potential where others can't is a benefit to my clients, whether they are first time home buyers, investors, or sellers.
I have been investing in residential and commercial real estate since 2000. Many of these properties were in poor condition. My husband and I worked side by side in these gems doing everything from knocking down walls to pouring new foundations. Our son often assisted and several times questioned our judgment! But the end results made him a believer.
As a landlord I was often approached by homeowners who were interested in renting out their properties. Initially I was advising people, but I could not really get involved as the law required one to be a licensed realtor in order to actually manage the transaction. With so many people requesting this service, both my husband Brett and I became licensed real estate agents, and with increasing requests for home buying help, have expanded to residential sales. My first listing had an accepted offer within 18 days on the market! I don’t know who was more thrilled, me or the clients! I am now enjoying assisting buyers as well. I am truly excited about real estate and believe that real estate is THE best investment you can make! The condition of the market does not intimidate me. I believe with enthusiasm and motivation one can accomplish anything.
